Better yet, circumvent the design balance and just use a heavy suit with the shotgun and go all out scrub.
Wait.... what?

To clear this nonsense up....
Gal logi scan limit is 15db.
Gal scout can only get down to 13db.
That's 3 complex Dampeners guys.... which is stupid?! At four the stack penalty kicks in, rightfully so, and you just should've put a kin cat in that 4th slot.
If you're wasting 3 slots, essentially becoming paper thin, to hide from a gal logi it's idiotic?! The only scanner that can find you below 18db is the duvolle focused scanner, but it's only for 5 secs (plus bonus 9 secs), and that's IF he even aims the right way with that narrow and short range on that particular scanner.
As a gal logi I'm only running the Creadron Flux and Creadron active scanners. On occasion I may run that Quantum for when Birdandy and his 12 logis wanna stack in the acid pits in PC, and get OB'd repeatedly smh?!
Some of you guys just need to read the stats, use protofitts.com, and do some field experiments.
As for the gal scout fit:
Scout Gk.0 2x Complex shield Extenders 2x Complex Kin Cats 1x Complex Cardiac Regulator 1x Complex Profile Dampener Six kin Combat Rifle Ishukone Nova Knives 1x Adv Cloak 1x Viziam Stable Link 1x C-7 flux
If your skills are maxed it will all fit, but you must actually be a scout... not a scrub scout depending on the shotgun and armor tank?!
For the "not so scout" scouts:
Scout Gk.0 1x Complex Shield Extender 1x Adv Shield Extender 1x Complex Reactive plate 1x Complex Profile Dampener 2x Complex Kin Cats Duvolle Specialist Shotgun Creadron Ion Pistol (my preference) Boundless Remote Explosive Viziam Stable Link Flux or Locus of your choice
The 1st one is great for assassinations, flanking, speed deploy, and link detail. None of that tanked scout bs?!
If the enemy spends money trying to hunt you with a gal logi with multiple focused scanners GOOD! You've effectively, by knifing his buddies and clearing links, made him narrow his scan radius to find you! Meaning your team mates get scanned less!

I dunno when people decided to suggest tanked scouts when I said no tanking unless it's sheild, like that assasin fit though.
That's my "Marine Insertion" fitting! I start most matches with it, and either meet or beat most to the points. Shield and speed is OP so most use Cal scouts, but the gal has better Ewar and Speed!
Shield: 233 armor: 162 sprint: 10.01 profile: 20db
These are your strengths and limits!
Precision you can work with at base since the gal already has a bonus. With shield, damp, and speed most armor tanked suit's never know what hit them. Six kin and ishies is a alpha dmg nightmare combo! Shotguns have hit detection issues, but knives don't :)
Even though min scout have a knife bonus, in my experience they are too easy to kill, and the Ewar isn't there. If your skills are maxed those Ishukone Nova Knives kill just fine.

In this fit you're goal is to be fast, dangerous, and keep them looking for you! It's not a 1v1 fit, but more of a "I've died 3 times and I haven't even seen him yet!", fit lol!
I'm mostly waiting for the backup behind the heavy hitters to hesitate or get tunnel vision. I.e. logies, snipers, commandos, Assault Ak.0's are the most common victims, etc. Guys who are focused down a sight, or trying to lock on. While they are dangerous and useful to the team, they're super vulnerable!
The best assaults and heavies won't last long with no logis or AV support. This puts you behind enemy lines, but also you're dropping links behind the enemy. Focus on support i.e. hacks, links, and critical intel. Kills come 2nd! Don't get killed trying to 1v1 a guy with 3 times the ehp?!
This fit only works really well when the whole 16 is fighting though. If half your team is in the redline this fit becomes the only target for 6-15 mercs to shoot at?!

Better yet, circumvent the design balance and just use a heavy suit with the shotgun and go all out scrub. Someone drop you on your head when you were a fresh merc? No, but apparently all the players who run the above fits (read: nearly all) were dropped on there heads and ruining it for the rest.
It is indeed all preference, but the issue in your logic is predictability.
Everyone expects the flying Cal scout with shotgun highly dependent on bad hit detection amidst chaos?! You'll get a few, but they'll start to counter, especially if they're on comms!
Since hmg's, combat and rail rifles, and mass drivers are in large number on the field, shields are you're best protection as these weapons are armor based. Tanking armor on any scout right now will be causing you to sacrifice speed and dampening for nothing since the mass driver can kill you in two splash shots regardless to how tanked your scout is?!
Practice avoiding direct conflict by having your assault buddies engage first! The enemy will notice your activity alot less if he's being shot at. The problem with this community is most don't squad, everybody wants to get the kills(kd padding mentality), and everyone thinks battles are won/lossed on the back of 1v1 engagements lmao!
For you sir, to practice:
Scout A/1 series 2x Adv Shield Extender 2x Adv Kin Cats 1x Adv Range Amp 1x Adv Profile Dampener Your choice of assault Scr Armor based sidearm Flux grenade Drop Uplink Needle
Use this fit as a range support fit. The assault scrambler will give you effective striking range, the damp mod will make you less of a target, the range mod will work well with your precisIon bonus to give you a target rich environment for not only you, but your squad who benefits from your Ewar!
You have links not far from and objective, and you're providing valuable intel! You can support pushes with long range fire, and pick up down friendlies repeatedly!
You don't hack, you don't frontal assault, and you DON'T 1v1!
You flank, runaway, and blitz friendlies with valuable intel! You pick off the wounded, and make sure they are lit up with no shields! Also try it with a scanner if you're dying too much trying to pick up "less tactical" friendlies who keep getting killed hopelessly.... they need EXTRA intel lol!
Your fast, damped, and lethal, with support equipment and intel!
Not every scout needs a d*mn shotgun?!

In the words of my lil homie Jesus Chrysler.... "you're doing it wrong"....
I could give effective high and low cost fits out all night, but the key in any fit is "team"!
Alot of guys, including me, don't run tanks and dropships anymore because of high cost, and frankly.... minmando is OP!
However, a four man vehicle squad can ride around killing everything in vehicles all day if they do it right.
Since the four man squads started everyone has been running solo thinking four is useless.... no.... 1 is useless lol!
Build your fits to help the team win battles, and you'll have better payouts and overall battle results.
